What RPG series are you a fanboy/fangirl of?
And if you are a Final Fantasy fanboy/girl, don't be ashamed to admit it. I am a Final Fantasy, Shin Megami (includes Persona), Pokemon (I consider it a semi-RPG), and Tales fangirl. And I like all these series because I find them to be fun to play, and have something ablout them.

I would have to say: Suikoden, Phantasy Star( pre-PSO), Megami Tensei and spinoff series, and Fire Emblem. There may be a few others too, but this is what came to mind.

I want to try the Suikoden and Phantasy Star series. But right now, I have too many games I need to play first. Wasn't Phantasy Star on the Dreamcast?

The only Phantasy Star on Dreamcast was Phantasy Star Online, which i'm not big on
The ones I liked the best were on Sega Master System and Genesis. They were classic turn-based RPG's, and absolutely some of the best that were ever made.

Re: What RPG series are you a fanboy/fangirl of?
None, as of right now. I'd say Final Fantasy, but I've lost all hope for that franchise, sad to say. I'd say Suikoden, but truth be told, the only ones I enjoyed were the first and second. I'd say Breath of Fire, but the first three were the only good ones. I dunno...I don't think I even enjoy RPGs anymore...especially with RPGs nowadays. All their stories are contrived and so cliche.... (Sigh.) Oh, well!

Re: What RPG series are you a fanboy/fangirl of?
Tales, Kingdom Hearts, and the various Mario RPGs are the only series I consider myself a fanboy of. Although I'm not sure I can truly count KH since I didn't like Chain of Memories, but I do love the console games.

Can't believe I forgot this before, but i'm definitely a fanboy of the Dragon Quest series as well.
My favorite game in the series is either V or VI I believe, but they all rule so far.

Good series?
It's more than merely good, since it basically created Console RPG's as we know them.
Dragon Quest I was released in 1986 over in Japan, which was a year before Final Fantasy I ever came out.
The series remains one of the best for fun and adventure, oh and there's some actual challenging gameplay too!

RPG serie?
None. I like a couple of FF games, but not enough to get all excited and passionate about it. The only RPG game I had a passion for was Mario RPG, but it's not a serie

Mario RPG COULD be considered a series, if you are willing to count the Paper Mario/Mario&Luigi games as part of it. Even if they aren't directly related, it's clear that Mario RPG set the stage for Paper Mario.

You never played ANY of the Paper Mario or Mario&Luigi games?
They are definitely worth a try if you ask me, even if I prefer Super Mario RPG to all of them.

Re: What RPG series are you a fanboy/fangirl of?
Oh I want to try them. But first I have a couple of games to want to complete before I get to Paper Mario games. And by the time I'll have those games completed, I believe Brawl will be out and then....forget about me playing any other game than this one for the next 6-12 months

I got too many games myself to complete... Otherwise I'd try out all the other series and games I've been recommended.

Re: What RPG series are you a fanboy/fangirl of?
I've always liked the Breath of Fire series-save 5-because of the interesting plots that reoccur in just about every installment. And hey, you get to pwn people as a dragon. Why not like it?
Re: What RPG series are you a fanboy/fangirl of?
Breath Of Fire is a great series, although i've yet to play enough of 4...even though I DO like it. As for Dragon Quarter, no comment...bad game in my opinion

Shadow Hearts! I also really love the Breath of Fire games.
And although not an RPG, it has RPG elements to it...CASTLEVANIA.

I agree, Castlevania has RPG elements in it. I enjoyed the newer ones in the series though.

Actually most of the recent Castlevania games get classied as Action/RPG's.
Whatever you want to call em, they are a LOT of fun.

Yep. It's hard for me to pick which one I like more though. Portrait of Ruin was fun as hell and I liked Curse of Darkness too.

Re: What RPG series are you a fanboy/fangirl of?
I never DID get to play the PS2 installments of the series, but the reviews seemed to be pretty lukewarm.
Maybe if I can find a copy for cheap, i'd get it.
