What was the first album you ever bought for yourself?

Every kind of collection needs a starting point, and music albums are certainly no exception.

For those who still remember, what was the first album that you had bought for yourself?

While I can't remember the exact album, it may have been Pretty Hate Machine by Nine Inch Nails.

While I had some albums I picked out before that point, it was one of the first that I bought myself from a record store.

I think it was Superunknown by Soundgarden.

Yeah, Superunknown is a good album...but i'm not sure if i'd consider it Soundgarden's best or not though.

Black Hole Sun is definitely one of the best songs they ever did however, and the video fucking ruled!

Wow, I'm going to feel totally isolated now. My first cassette was of NKOTB... And CD was either Matchbox 20 or Destiny's Child.

Anyway the first Cassette I ever picked out for me was Weird Al I believe...when I was like 6 or so! My parents bought that for me of course, but I requested it.

I don't buy many albums-hell, I haven't bought one since '05!-but the first one I bought was Darkest Hour's Hidden Hands Of A Sadist Nation.

I consider that my real first album purchse. Otherwise it would have been a Pokemon movie soundtrack.

Systematic Chaos by Dream Theater was the first CD i've ever purchased. I got On an Island by David Gilmour for my birthday some time ago though.

Some really lame ass traditional Irish folk band called The Irish Rovers. Lmao...don't ask.

As far as I remember, it was Metallica's Kill 'Em All album. ...And Justice For All would have been my first real album, but someone else bought it for me, and this thread seems to specify that it's the first one I bought myself. Anyway, that may not be it, but I don't have a very good memory and it would make sense that after getting a good Metallica album, I'd go for another.
