What were the last books you bought?
Wow, I didn't start this topic yet?
Anyway, I bought a number of books yesterday afternoon at the DOLLAR STORE of all places. What more? 3 of them are hard-bound books, and all of them look interesting.
Heres the list:
Prima: Sega Saturn game secrets Volume 1 for $.99(Softbound)
Knight Of The Demon Queen by Barbara Hambly for $.99 (Hardbound)
The Golden Band Of Eddris by Henry Holt for $.99 (Hardbound)
Hammerfall by C.J Cherryh for $.99 (Hardbound)
Also I got this pack of 4 small Hardbound books for a dollar: Hoyle On Backgammon, Crossword Poems 1, Crossword Poems 2, and A Twist In The Tale.
Not bad for a dollar store, huh?

Let's see... The last books I've bought in the past month have been the three books by Stephanie Meyer. Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse happened to be better than what I thought they would have been. Twilight was the only paperback one out of the bunch and was the cheapest at $8. The other two were like $13 a pop. Not too back on a book. Also, the guides for Need for Speed: Pro Street, Assassin's Creed, and Tomb Raider Anniversary were bought, but not by me.

What exactly does Stephanie Meyer write about?
The book titles sound interesting enough, so i'd like to know more.

I haven't bought any books recently but I have read the I am Legend book. I must say if the movie differs too much from the book, I'll be one sad camper.

The Snow Warrior
BY Don Dandrea
Publisher: Tudor Communications (July 1988)
Snow Warrior" is the story of Subotai an orphaned Mongol that rises up to be the right hand of the great Ghengis Khan. Tomes have been written about Tumajin (Ghengis Khan) but almost nothing about the mysterious Subotai; the man that lead much of the Khan's armies into incredible victories.
Subotai's story begins with the young orphan surviving the harsh plains and the even harsher treatment that an orphan might face in a fiercely nomadic society. As a teen, the Mongol sees a young blond haired girl that becomes his lifetime quest to meet and marry. The quest leads him to become a trapper of birds, a trader, a guardsman, a father and husband, a student of Indian Martial arts and philosphy and finally the Right hand of great Khan.

It's a bit dark and extremely depressing in a few points, along with it being very risque, but it's also got a lot of good points and values towards it, along with making you think. I've always loved books that make you think.
The last book I bought was New Moon. I have to say, I'm liking New Moon much more than I liked Twilight.

Re: What were the last books you bought?
I've been wanting to check out the Prince of Nothing series for a while. I've heard a lot of really good things about it.
As for what books I've purchased lately, well, I haven't bought any in a while tbh. I would love to buy more, but we're broke 99% of the time. Last books I bought, though, were A Scanner Darkly by Philip K. Dick, The Plague by Albert Camus, and Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk, along with a textbook on VisualBasic programming.
