What attracts you to certain music the most?

We all have fairly different musical tastes here, but most of us have at least a LITTLE in common musically.

So anyway, what is it that makes you like the music you like so much?

Personally, atmosphere is a very important quality to me. Besides that, there has to be something I find interesting or worthwhile about it. Vocals are important as well, since they can really make or break the entire thing for me.

So, how about you?

Usually, if the music stimulates me, then I'll probably love it. And it's the same the other way around. If it relaxes me, I'll love it too. It's all about the emotions when I listen to music.

As long as it has some great, mostly heavy guitar work and good, clean vocals, I'll usually go for it. I'm the type of person who has to hear both great music and great vocals, not one or the other. That's why I only listen to certain kinds of rock and metal and stay away from stuff like death metal and emo and whatnot.

Good vocals (good imo, of course), some nice guitar work, something somewhat more complex than the norm, etc. However, it pretty much just boils down to, "sounds good."

I will rarely settle for music that is average or generic.

There needs to be something interesting or unique about it usually.

Morbid is lying. He likes Slipknot and Limp Bizkit.

Generally, unique and original music that is either fun or really deep and meaningful is good with me.

The most important thing is that I like the music. Creative and interesting melodies, big plus.

The lyrics aren't as important, but if I can understand them, they can't suck. The vocals also have to be pleasing to me. :]

Same here pretty much. Bad lyrics or singing can ruin the whole damn thing for me, especially if I can understand what's being said.

That's part of what I like about listening to music from languages in which i'm not fluent As long as the vocals are good, I don't have to worry about shitty lyrics.

A good beat (major plus, surprised no one said that yet.), good vocals I can understand (both how they sound and thier meanings, none of that rap stuff), a good guitar and bass sound I can follow...

All these things to me I think makes the music worth listening to.

Well, main thing for me is a good beat. Vocals aren't too high on the list but, yeah if they suck too bad, not even the greatest beat can save it.
