How open-minded are you with reading?
There are so many different kinds of books out there, but most people tend to limit themselves to a few favored genres of reading. Although I do prefer some types of books to others, I will give anything a shot as long as it looks of interest to me in one way or another.
Occasionally I will even pick up a book that looks un-interesting on the surface, and walk away very pleasantly surprised.
So, what about you?

I'm open for any kind of book. While I prefer romance novels, horror, and fantasy books, I'll read ones with suspense, history, or biographies. I haven't been disappointed yet.

I prefer realistic fiction, and the epic poems (Divine Comedy, Odyssey, etc), and will read fantasy on ocassion. I don't touch Sci-Fi, though.

Lately, I have found myself reading a lot of Fantasy and Sci-Fi, along with surreal stuff like James P Blaylock's work.

Re: How open-minded are you with reading?
Personally, I'm selective with my reading. I have a hard time reading books where the main character is a guy. The author has to REALLY grab my atttention inorder for me to actually get into it.
Other than that, I tend to focus mostly on Comedy, Based on real life, Fantasy, and anything by Sarah Dessen or Meg Cabot. Thriller, horror, and mystery are alright depending on how well I can get into the book.

Romance novels are one of the very few things I would never touch, but that's hardly surprising for most of you.
What I read the most of is probably Fantasy books, but I like a lot of stuff.

Re: How open-minded are you with reading?
I've never really been much of a fan for romance novels. :/ Usually it has to be tied into a comedy or a thriller, otherwise I won't read it. Probably one of the reasons why I haven't touched Meg Cabot yet.
I also prefer to read books that make you think. If it doesn't make you think, and the premise isn't good, I honestly won't read it.
Oh, and I do judge books by their covers. >>

I don't know, I'd say I'm generally pretty open-minded when it comes to reading. I'll generally read anything as long as it's good or interests me. Although, I do tend to prefer classic literature and sci-fi novels.
