I am not sure how many of you read books based off of gaming series, but I certainly do.

Most recently, I have been reading the Starcraft books, in particular the first 2 books of the Dark Templar trilogy.

Anyone else into these kind of books?

I never really got into any particular series, although I did read Perfect Dark: Initial Vector. After I play Diablo and Diablo II some more I may check into those books. I've also got Halo: Fall of Reach, but I haven't started it yet.

Wait, you own the Diablo games?!

Would you be up for playing them online sometime? Smile

Of course. ^_^

I don't have them installed on this PC, but I'll bring them Monday and load them up. I haven't even played the first game yet so I may seem lost if we play that, but I've played a couple of hours into Diablo II so I think I know what I'm doing there. Smile

Well, i'm up for it whenever you are! Monday should be fine, but we'll play Diablo I as a refresher for me...since I haven't played that in years!

As for Diablo II, I think my original copy is broken...but I did buy another copy some time ago, if I could only find it!

Diablo I, I know where it is however Smile

I used to read a lot of Dragonlance when I was middle school, and that's based on paper and dice game, Dungeons and Dragons. Good stuff...I haven't touched it since then, though.

LOL...remember the Dragonlance game for NES that was absolutely terrible?

I'm still amazed that such a terrible game has a cult following, even if it's only to mock it.

The only books based on games that I have read, or really seemed interesting, are the fan fics that other people write for them. Sure, most are crappy and poorly written but once in a while you can find a really great one.

Some fan fics can be quite good, but the vast majority is sickenly sweet with fan pairings of characters and crap "won't u b mi bishi *~lulz*~ "

But yeah, some can be good.

I just found out there's a novel based on Mass Effect, so I'm definately going to hunt that one down. Great game, and something I wouldn't mind checking out in book form.

As I mentioned in a different thread, I bought this Manga based on Castlevania at a comic store yesterday.

Honestly, I never even knew that they made one until now!

Looks pretty decent so far.

I don't think I've ever picked up a book based off of a game. Normally I read books that later turn into movies.

I don't really read that many game-based books, tbh. I do have one of the Resident Evil novels, City of the Dead, but haven't read that far into it yet.
