The Tales Series

I got to thinking about this and wanted to make a thread for the Tales games. Now, I haven't played each and every one in the series but the two ones I have played, I really enjoyed. Those are Tales of Symphonia and Tales of the World: Radiant Mythologies. I like how some of the skills are learned and I liked the characters. After I beat Tales of the World, I plan on playng Tales of the Abyss. I like, also, how each game is loosely related to one another. Or at least to me, they seem related. ...

Preference: Handheld or console RPGs

So, which RPGs do you prefer to play? The portable ones where you can play on the go but have not as good graphics as the console ones? Or the console ones that you get great graphics but not so portable? Everyone has their reasons why they prefer one over the other. For me, I prefer the portable ones though I love the ones on the consoles as well. It's just a lot easier to move to a comfortable spot with a DS or PSP.

And if you are a Final Fantasy fanboy/girl, don't be ashamed to admit it. I am a Final Fantasy, Shin Megami (includes Persona), Pokemon (I consider it a semi-RPG), and Tales fangirl. And I like all these series because I find them to be fun to play, and have something ablout them.

I like how this series was able to keep the key elements from Koudelka, and incorporate them in the later games enough so they remain significant, but that it also allowed room for a different feel.

I loved Koudelka, but the gameplay was quite shoddy. The first SH is probably my fave PS2 RPG, SH2 Covenant was great, although not as good as the first in my opinion. Still, much better then most other PS2 RPG's. SH3 From the New World was a disappointment indeed as far as story and atmosphere ...

Is a deep, involving story important to you in RPGs?

I know a lot of people who prefer their RPGs to have a powerful and well thought-out story, while others pay no attention to the story and focus on gameplay. Is a deep storyline important to you, or will you play a game regardless?

I don't really care about the story. If it is involving, great, I can get into the game easier, but if it's not, I don't care as long as the gameplay is good. There are rarely games where I keep playing them just to see what happens next, because it's easier ...

Well, I know that Sean(Solitary Seraph) isn't a fan of the NIS Strategy/RPG's calling them the "Madden Of Strategy/RPG's" but whatever way you want to look at it, Disgaea is one of the most popular RPG series out there right now.

Personally, I love games and i'm greatly looking forward to Disgaea 3 within the near future!

Anyone else here like the games?

This game diserves a thread. Like I said many times, it's my all time favourite game. I spent so many hours playing this game and I think I completed it more times than I completed OoT.

At first, I was using the overrated team: Mario, Geno and Bowser, but then I realized how all 3 were weak against magic spells so now I pretty much use Mallow and Geno along with Mario. Mallow has a fairly good magic defence. I refuse to use Peach because she makes the game a little too easy.
