Why does EVERYTHING people want have to come out at the end of the year? I'm still pretty happy stuff like Devil May Cry, GTA, and MGS4 came out earlier, but it really annoys me to no end that a lot of people are going to miss out on Far Cry 2, which was probably the most enjoyable FPS that I've played, simply because it came out at a bad time. Think about how dedicated more people would have been to LittleBigPlanet if it had someone managed to come out around the same time as The Force Unleashed, ...

Final Fantasy - From VII on, Square knew all they had to do was remake the same game with different characters and set it in a different place, and it would still sell like hotcakes. Not to mention they can remake a FF game 2-3 times and it'll still make ...

Most of us have been playing games for many years now, but how did it all begin?

What was the first game system that you owned, and when did you get it?

My first system that I owned was the original Nintendo Entertainment System, back in the late 80's. This was the package that came with 2 controllers, a light gun, and Mario Bros/Duck Hunt.

A few days after getting the system, a relative gave me Castlevania as a present which made me absolutely ecstatic!

This occured to me the other day when I was debating on whether to buy another X360 controller or not. I decided against it because I don't really have many games that would be great for 2 player action, but then I realized...most of them don't even HAVE 2 player action, unless it's online over Xbox Live. The PS3 is starting to build it's focus on online gaming too.

Anyway, when you're looking to buy a game, whether it's part of a series you're familiar with or a game you don't know much about, do you trust professional reviews? Or do you check reader reviews? Or do you prefer to not read reviews and find other sources to learn more about the game, such as demos, or renting the game in question?

Ehh, what the hell...why not?

We have threads like this for pretty much everything else, so let's give this a try.

What was the last game system you purchased, and roughly when was it bought and for how much?

The last system I bought was Playstation 2:Slim, way back in October of 2004 for about $150. A few months before that, I bough my Xbox: Halo Edition in May 2004 for about $200.

Yeah, my "latest" systems are both quite aged now.

How about you?
