Why does EVERYTHING people want have to come out at the end of the year? I'm still pretty happy stuff like Devil May Cry, GTA, and MGS4 came out earlier, but it really annoys me to no end that a lot of people are going to miss out on Far Cry 2, which was probably the most enjoyable FPS that I've played, simply because it came out at a bad time. This occured to me the other day when I was debating on whether to buy another X360 controller or not. I decided against it because I don't really have many games that would be great for 2 player action, but then I realized...most of them don't even HAVE 2 player action, unless it's online over Xbox Live. Maybe it's just me, but are World War II shooters getting just a little old? A few games come out here and there that are set in a different time period, or a made up time period, but most of the time developers just go for what's easy and base their shooters off of WWII. How hard can it be to come up with an original storyline and setting?

What's your opinion on the number of WWII shooters? Too many? Not enough? A decent number, but no more should be made? Discuss.

What are some factors that decide if you'll replay a game after you've beaten it once?

For me, some of the main factors are hidden items, or just how much fun I had with the game, regardless of whether there will be anything new to see. It also helps if there are character exclusive quests or entire storylines or something, or branching paths that require more than one playthrough to see. There are other things, but that's the main stuff.

Do you own any games that you probably would have never owned if someone else hadn't suggested them to you, or given them to you, or somehow helped you get into that game?

Most recently for me is the Disgaea series, which Grave got me into. I also would have never played Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus (and, in turn, Abe's Oddysee) if someone hadn't given it to me.

The game itself was only announced recently, and NIS has already confirmed intentions to bring Disgaea DS to North America!

If you were magically (or otherwise) transformed into your favorite video game character, who would it be? And assuming you had all of their major abilities (i.e. if you were Ness from Earthbound you'd have all his PK abilities) what would you do? Ehh, what the hell...why not? We have threads like this for pretty much everything else, so let's give this a try. What was the last game system you purchased, and roughly when was it bought and for how much? The last system I bought was Playstation 2:Slim, way back in October of 2004 for about $150. A few months before that, I bough my Xbox: Halo Edition in May 2004 for about $200. Yeah, my "latest" systems are both quite aged now. How about you?
