Are there any books that you were disappointed with, either because you were looking extremely forward to it and it just turned out to be awful, or you wanted to like it, but you just couldn't?

I have to say, a couple of books come to mind for me.

Meg Cabot's Ready Or Not- It is the sequel to All-American Girl, and I have to say I was very disappointed in this book. It did not flow as well as its predecessor, and I just wanted to cringe every time I read it.

There are so many different kinds of books out there, but most people tend to limit themselves to a few favored genres of reading. Although I do prefer some types of books to others, I will give anything a shot as long as it looks of interest to me in one way or another.

When you find a good book, how long does it take you to read the whole thing? For me, it depends on how into the book I am. The longest it took me to read a book was maybe a week and a half. But the book was Gone with the Wind. But for an average book (which seem to range between 300 and 600 pages, I can read it in 2 days. I don't think it's because I'm a fast reader but the fact that when I get into a story, I don't want to put it down.

I'm still pretty happy stuff like Devil May Cry, GTA, and MGS4 came out earlier, but it really annoys me to no end that a lot of people are going to miss out on Far Cry 2, which was probably the most enjoyable FPS that I've played, simply because it came out at a bad time. What was the first game system that you owned, and when did you get it?

My first system that I owned was the original Nintendo Entertainment System, back in the late 80's. This was the package that came with 2 controllers, a light gun, and Mario Bros/Duck Hunt.

A few days after getting the system, a relative gave me Castlevania as a present which made me absolutely ecstatic!

Or the console ones that you get great graphics but not so portable? Everyone has their reasons why they prefer one over the other.
I like how this series was able to keep the key elements from Koudelka, and incorporate them in the later games enough so they remain significant, but that it also allowed room for a different feel.

I loved Koudelka, but the gameplay was quite shoddy. The first SH is probably my fave PS2 RPG, SH2 Covenant was great, although not as good as the first in my opinion. Still, much better then most other PS2 RPG's. SH3 From the New World was a disappointment indeed as far as story and atmosphere ...

I don't really care about the story. If it is involving, great, I can get into the game easier, but if it's not, I don't care as long as the gameplay is good. There are rarely games where I keep playing them just to see what happens next, because it's easier ...

This occured to me the other day when I was debating on whether to buy another X360 controller or not. I decided against it because I don't really have many games that would be great for 2 player action, but then I realized...most of them don't even HAVE 2 player action, unless it's online over Xbox Live. The PS3 is starting to build it's focus on online gaming too.

Does this bother anyone else? I know most people who have a 360 and/or PS3 have online subscriptions, but I don't, so it kinda ...

Anyhow, this is the thread where you can show off your video game collection, and talk about how much better it is than everyone else's. I'm leaving it open though, so you don't like, HAVE to type out your list, or link us to it. You can do that, or type out how many games you have overall, or for each system, or pick out a select few games that make your collection better, or whatever. Have fun with the idea.

Are you a perfectionist who must have everything labelled correctly, and where you correct other's mistakes, or do you not care?

Since I don't think I told most of you yet, we now have a domain name for Chaos Refuge!

In addition to the familiar http://chaosrefuge.forumotion.com address, you can now also reach us at http://chaosrefuge.co.nr!

Not only does this help make the site address shorter and neater, it should also hopefully be easier to remember as well!

Heres hoping that we continue to get more members, and we get our activity level in high gear again!
